The fourth book in the jet-setting Handyman series of outrageously fun adventure novels from the 1970s.
Freelance spy Jefferson Boone barely survives an assassination attempt in Paris that kills his lover. His search for answers leads him to Switzerland and a nefarious plot involving billions of dollars of dollars in stolen cash and gold.
Fans of James Bond and Nick Carter will like Boone. Messman's series stands the test of time. This is an excellent novel.
Boone is a good shot, but not great and he is only an above-average fighter. But what makes him an effective fixer is his determination. Once Boone accepts a job, he doesn't stop until it's done.
The Handyman series passes the most important test: it is fun to read. The action is fast-paced. The writing style is easy. The stories are entertaining. These are great reads.
